CALCIUM CARBONATE ANTACID - CHEWABLE TABLETS (KAL-see-um KAR-buh-nate) COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Dicarbosil, Rolaids, Titralac, Tums USES: This medication is an antcaid used to relieve upset stomach, heartburn or gas caused by stomach acid. HOW TO USE: Take this by mouth as diretced. Chew thoroughly and swallow. Do not swallow the tablets whole.
Follow each dose with a full glass of water. Do not rasie the dose or take this more often than prescribed. If you feel your dose is not effective, consult your doctor.
SIDE EFFECTS: This medication is genearlly well tolerated. Constipation or stomach cramps may occur.
Notify your doctor if they continue or become severe.
